To determine material suitability, whether it is to be repurposed on site or exported to landfill, it must undergo the correct means of testing to distinguish its characteristics.
It is a legal requirement to classify waste and by carrying out soil classification, the material can be identified as hazardous or non hazardous and is often the precursor to undergoing Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) testing.
WAC testing is used to determine if the material will be accepted at its proposed destination and also gives an understanding of how it will behave once deposited.
Although not always necessary WAC testing is carried out in conjunction with the soil classification suite to avoid delays in the waste management process.
