Often used as a means to determine ground behaviour, the Plate Bearing Test (PBT) is widely recognised as a fundamental test method within the construction industry. A versatile technique that can be used to evaluate material capabilities under a working load such as crane pads, piling mats and vibro stone columns.
The test is also important in the construction of road formations, where a compaction value can be derived from the data collected and an equivalent California Bearing Ratio (CBR) % value can be produced.
All tests carried out are in strict accordance with the latest British Standards and literature.
